Highlight:

-Grade 4 classes continued learning about simple machines. On Monday and Tuesday this week students learned about a new simple machine from a different teacher than they are used to.  Ask your child which one they learned about and who taught them.

-The Division 2 play has been ramping up practices and rehearsals this week. On Friday we went through a practice for the finally. Ask your child what their role is.

-Students learned the standard algorithm for multiplication this week. Please continue to practice basic facts so that these more complex concepts become less difficult for them. A homework sheet was sent home today to be completed for Monday.

Reminders:

With the cold weather this week we have been having indoor recesses. If the temperature rises above -20 including windchill students are expected to be outside. Please send your child ready to be outside with a winter coat, mittens/gloves and a warm hat.
4D will have homework in math starting on Monday.
The Show Must Go On is being presented on Wednesday Dec 11th and Thursday December 12th, Cast A is on Dec 11th and Cast B is on Dec 12th. Doors open at 6:15 on both evenings.

Highlights: -We have been working really hard to learn and master long division these last two weeks. We are proud of all our students' effort and perseverance in learning this challenging concept. We are starting our second workbook Jump Math 4.2 next week! -We are continuing to recognize acts of kindness around the classroom. Hello Grade 4 Parents Can you believe we are entering our 11th week of isolation? It’s crazy to think that students have been away from our building for that long. We certainly miss having their physical presence and look forward to seeing them again in our classrooms and hallways. Highlights -We have started sorting information into Carroll and Venn Diagrams in Math -We practiced the numbers in FRENCH from 1-20 and played Lotto (Bingo) -We dissected an eye (a paper one), and identified all the parts that help us to see -We painted and added information about the buffalo to our visual journal.  Homework Your child has taken home a page about Carroll and Venn Diagrams.
